Tomato & Corn Salad w/ Thai Chili Lime Dressing T Tomato & Corn Salad w/ Thai Chili Lime Dressing

Thai cuisine is a harmony of flavors that include sweet, salty, sour, spicy and sometimes bitter. It’s also about regionally accessible ingredients. So even though I’m in Nashville now, I consider this an authentic Thai dish that celebrates both my cultures and community. From Thailand to Tennessee, this recipe is so fabulous. And don’t be afraid of fish sauce. Think of it like anchovy paste in Caesar Dressing.
For Michelle, feeling accepted wasn’t easy growi For Michelle, feeling accepted wasn’t easy growing up in a place with a small Chinese-American community. It wasn’t until she reached college that she found connection in others who could relate to her situation.

Now, she offers these resources for others who may be struggling: “Minor Feelings” is a phenomenal book to read if you want to gain insight into AAPI mental health and one's journey to accept oneself. I also really recommend “Crying in H-Mart”. It talks a lot about acceptance of your culture and an appreciation of things that you may have not appreciated in the past.” @michellelynneng
Jessica lives Ayurveda traditions, so she knows a Jessica lives Ayurveda traditions, so she knows a thing or two about getting in touch with her mind and body—including how embracing traditional culture and community can enrich your life. For others in the AAPI community who may be struggling with mental health, she recommends, “Take care of your body first, and the mind and spirit will follow! Eat good, move lots, sleep well, breathe, and get in the sun!” @jessleeferry

How are you taking care of your body this AAPI Heritage and Mental Health Awareness Month?
Well, not water. Water can stay. Sugar-sweetened d Well, not water. Water can stay. Sugar-sweetened drinks like soft drinks, fruit juice, electrolyte sports drinks, energy drinks, and sweetened coffees and teas make up 47% of the added sugar in our diets. But the real kicker is these drinks add calories to our diets without impacting satiety and may actually make you more hungry.

Swapping that soda for water could help move your weight loss goals in the right direction. Have you ditched the drinks yet? Tell us in the comments.

Forming a new habit is no small feat. Many new routines take a few weeks of repetition to stick, so don’t stress if you’re having a hard time finding the motivation to hit the gym as often as you planned. In the meantime, find ways to incorporate joyful movement into your day (dancing, hot girl walks, kayaking, etc.) to keep your body active and entertained. Soon enough, you’ll be “All systems running smoothly.”

She shared, “While I am grateful for citizenship, I am particularly more fond of my heritage. The language, the intricacies, the warmth of Korean culture cannot be exactly translated to a tee in the American context, which makes it super special to me, and to identify as this will forever be my honor.” @oakaiwell

This one’s true, Noomers. Mushrooms are virtually impossible to overcook thanks to their heat-stable cell walls that keep their interior perfectly tender, no matter the cook time. Thanks for being so forgiving, shrooms. 👏
Hungry can turn to hangry real quick, giving our i Hungry can turn to hangry real quick, giving our impulsive elephant full control, eating anything and everything in its path. Instead, snack on nourishing foods between meals to keep your blood sugar and your hunger and satiety hormones in check. Plus, we found people that eat regularly are more likely to make healthier food choices, like eating at home and controlling their portions.

Have you joined the snack side yet? Comment below with the snack that gets you through the day.
Keyboard warriors and smartphone scrollers, rejoic Keyboard warriors and smartphone scrollers, rejoice. Just remember to take a beat to be present and enjoy your snack, instead of always multitasking and fog eating. It’s just you, some chip dust, and your chopsticks. 🥢
Somewhere along the way (probably in a moment of l Somewhere along the way (probably in a moment of low motivation), you may forget why you’re putting yourself through your journey at all. Frustration is a normal part of any process, but one way to get out of that mindset is to remember why you started in the first place. That “why” can help propel you to greater heights and remind you of how far you’ve come. That feels pretty good, right?

What’s your original “why?” Tell us in the comments below.
One iced coffee, heavy on the coffee, coming right One iced coffee, heavy on the coffee, coming right up. Here’s how: brew an extra pot of coffee and pour it into ice trays to cool down tomorrow’s cold brew. Have you tried this ice cube trick yet? Tell us below. 🧊
If you can see it, you can achieve it. Or in other If you can see it, you can achieve it. Or in other less corny words, visualizing your future helps make it more doable. It just takes a bit of imagination, maybe some manifestation, and a whole lot of putting in the work.

Tell us in the comments what success looks like to you. Then, (here’s where things get fun) take pictures when those moments of success happen and tag @noom. We’re talking the first time you hit 10,000 steps, or your new grocery store finds, or maybe that gallon jug of water finally on empty. Let’s celebrate it all.
Oh, snacking. It’s fun, it’s tasty, and it can Oh, snacking. It’s fun, it’s tasty, and it can be a good way to clean out the refrigerator. (Half a pickle and three handfuls of cold basmati rice? Don’t mind if we do!) But that’s not the kind of snacking that really fuels us and helps us maintain energy throughout the day. Smart, energy-boosting snacking is a bit of a science.

And while cookies and crackers and pickle rice can be fun, these foods aren’t usually the best snacks for sustained energy. Some prime snack candidates? Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, or hard-boiled eggs are all great, protein-rich ways to fuel your day. And of course, some potato chips every once in awhile. 😉
Why 10,000? Well, for starters, who doesn’t love Why 10,000? Well, for starters, who doesn’t love a nice, round number? For a more scientifically backed response, it’s based in research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that found 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week can help you stay healthy and fend off chronic conditions, like diabetes and cancer. 10,000 steps (or shakes, shuffles, boogies, rolls) will get you there, making it a great, doable goal.

And guess what? Running and walking are equally good. Yep, we said it.
It’s aliveeee! But it’s better that way — ra It’s aliveeee! But it’s better that way — raw oysters need to be as fresh as possible before you dig in. Dead raw oysters are a no-no because they are more prone to being infected with viruses and bacteria. Send this to an oyster lover who needs to know. 🦪

When enjoying those more decadent red foods, from When enjoying those more decadent red foods, from time to time, try digging into those green and yellow foods first. Like sweet potato, salad, avocado, and beans. This ensures you’ll stay full and satisfied on those less dense options, and avoid overindulging in those more decadent ones. If you ever wanted to know what it’s like to liv If you ever wanted to know what it’s like to live forever, just ask honey. When stored properly in an airtight container, its expiration date can exceed thousands of years. In addition to its low moisture content and high acidity to keep bacteria away, honey has hydrogen peroxide — an antiseptic that gives this sweetener medicinal properties (thanks bees). 🐝

And if your honey does change color or thicken over time, it’s a good sign. This means that it hasn’t been pasteurized and still has its natural yeasts. But honey isn’t invincible and can spoil when exposed to moisture, so make sure to use your best judgment.

Drizzle some honey onto your greek yogurt, add it to hot lemon water, and share this post to a friend who you think wouldn’t bee-lieve you.
Ahhh, it’s so satisfying to watch the glasses fi Ahhh, it’s so satisfying to watch the glasses fill up as you get your daily water intake. Drinking H₂O helps stabilize body temperature, dispose of toxins, and fight infections.

If you’re getting bored of plain ol’ water, add lemon slices or berries for a refreshing taste. Noomers, drop a 💦 if you’re staying hydrated.
Just wait until he hears about cellular hunger. 🤯

When you’re “mouth hungry,” you tend to choose foods that are enjoyable for their taste, texture, or just plain old accessibility. In other words, you’re not hungry for food—you’re hungry for a specific food… like dill pickle-dusted pretzels, or a sour candy you snagged off that checkout counter.

Wanna know a Psych Trick? Feed your mouth first. If you don’t satisfy that taste for dill pickle dust, you might find yourself unsatisfied and returning to the pantry even after you’ve fed your stomach, which could lead to eating more calories than you were even hungry for to begin with. (AKA operation sour candy is a-go.🍬)
